This is a set of 2 antique bamboo trader's abacus. A Chinese, oak and bamboo counting apparatus, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Wonderfully tactile handmade instruments. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Set within oak frames, showing dark, weathered hues. Rows of turned bamboo tiles set upon slender columns. Hand-written Chinese characters to the reverse of the smaller abacus.
This is a charming set of 2 antique bamboo trader's abacus, with pleasing handcrafted detail. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to enjoy.
