Set of 8 Victorian Walnut Dining Chairs
REF: LA81724
Sold
Description
Here we have this set of 8 Walnut dining chairs, that were made in the Victorian era. The 8 dining chairs are made in solid walnut, with upholstered stuff over seats. The top-rails of these chairs have a central carved motif, that match the central splat.
It is in-usual to find a set of 8 of this type of chair, as normally you find these in sets of 6.
The chairs stand on turned front legs, and the usual splay legs to the rear. When these chairs were first made, White Stars first liner RMS Oceanic had just been launched at Harland and Wolff’in Belfast, work had also been completed on the Albert Memorial Dock in Belfast, and Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork held its first service.
The chairs also have survived the 2 World Wars, as well as the Great Depression in the 1930’s.
