Set of Eight 20th Century High Back Lisse Dining Chairs Designed by Tim Bates for Pieff

These fine chairs, unusual for being a set of 8, are a mid century design classic produced in England at the Pieff factory in Lye in the west midlands c.1976. Newly upholstered in a cream nubuck the tapering high backs of the chairs contrast beautifully with the chrome plated brass frames, spreading feet and arm supports, giving these pieces a very sculptural look and a relaxed yet luxurious aesthetic. These chairs are extremely comfortable and ideal for dining or in the office, the long back being flexible with adds to the comfort of these chairs. Pieff's chief furniture designer, Tim Bates, was responsible for the Lisse design and it is regarded as a classic of British modernist design, the chairs being both aesthetically interesting and sturdy and well-balanced.
