Silver Plated Vesta Case with a Woodland Scene c.1890

This listing is for a silver plated vesta case with a deeply cut forest scene. Possibly Dutch in origin. The scene is set in a wooded area with a man holding an axe; there is also I think a knight with a sword but the person in the centre's role is unclear. Nicely under cut with a fine border. It has a striker to one end with a spring loaded lid at the opposite end. It does close but the spring is quite weak. As an antique item one should expect age related wear and faults, but the vesta case displays really well and I see nothing that would distract from its overall appearance. The plating is in superb condition and would make an excellent addition to any vesta case collection.
