Description
A good sized French mantel clock, made in The Louis VXI style for the British market dating to around 1860. It has a waisted case with applied brass decoration and brass and tortoiseshell inlaid panels and as a sign of quality includes the back door. The embossed brass dial has blue enamel numeral plaques and a matching bezel with a bevel edge glass. The clock has a centre window showing the sunburst pendulum which drives the 8 day movement that strikes the hours and halves on a bell. The movement was made by Vincenti of Paris.
