The brushing slide can be pulled out and be used for a computer desk for your laptop, or like in the Georgian times these where used for gentlemen to hang their trousers over, The chest stands on bracket feet. There are signs of old wood worm long gone now, and age related marks with an old ink stain on the top, possibly someone spilt a pot of ink.
