Song Dynasty Chinese Qingbai Bowl

Chinese Qingbai bowl from the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty was an imperial dynasty in China dating from 960–1279. You can more information on the dynasty here. Quite a remarkable little glazed bowl (16cm diameter). The top rim is bare of glaze with a feint ring surrounding the dish. The outer side of the bowl is slightly lighter with lots of age spots and signs of being used. Again, the glaze covers to leave the rim bare, there are signs of a feint pattern or wording having been painted onto this edge. Inside the base circle there are painted markings, makers mark perhaps. The glaze has a green tint on the outside and a mottled brown & green tint internally. There are small pits to the surface in different place. Overall a delightful little piece of history.
