We offer a significant range of uniquely rare, scarce and interesting high-quality artifacts and items for investment, from our modern and spacious display / sales outlet, along with a number of established online global sales platforms (such as this one). We also have 'Man Cave' and 'Lady Lounge' areas, to help engage the senses and heighten the curiosity! - In addition, (via our well-established courier business owned by one of our shareholder partners), we are also able to professionally ship and export our sold goods throughout the UK and all over the world at highly competitive rates and personal one-to-one service. Description
We present for consideration, this splendid early Victorian, Tamworth made, 12” fusee dial wall timepiece, by regional watch and clockmaker, William Lakin, of 35 Market Street, Tamworth, Staffordshire, (from where this clock would have been made). He eventually passed away at Tamworth in 1878, aged 77. • A solid narrow turned Mahogany roundhead face, that sits over its boxed cabinet. • Hinged inspection door located to the side of the box. • Operable lockable regulator door located at the bottom of the box. • Convex metal dial, with black Roman numerals and Lakin’s details. • Retains its original pair of blued Breguet Empire hands, secured with a pinned collet. • Original convex glaze mounted in a brass bezel. • Quality 8-day single fusee chain driven movement set between shouldered plates and turned pillars. • Comes with its 65mm diameter brass pendulum bob, with door key and a brass winding key.
