Spode Regency Bone China Porcelain Shell Shape Dessert Dish c.1820
This is a fine late Georgian (c.1820) Spode bone china dessert dish of scallop shell form, decorated with an unusual gilt and salmon enamel design, shaped to match the rims, they have a sense of movement like stylised musical scores with fringed edges. In between, and within a large oval framed central reserve, very well painted in lovely bright enamels are large floral sprays, with smaller sprigs dotted between. Gilt detail to the moulded handle area and a gilt band inside the rim. Unmarked.
