This charming Staffordshire figure group depicts a man in highland dress with his arm around his faithful spaniel who sits on top of his kennel. The figure is hand painted in overglaze enamels.

Wessex House Antiques has clarified that the Staffordshire Figure Group of a Man with his Faithful Dog c.1850 (LA127020) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1850
condition
The tip of the man's nose has been retouched. The firing cracks were made during manufacture and have always been present. There is some paint wear to the overglaze orange enamel on the man's cloak which is quite typical for this type of ware. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of this attractive figure.
