Staffordshire Figures of a Fisherman and His Wife

Offered for sale are two absolutely charming, Staffordshire figures of a fisherman and his wife. They are modelled standing with baskets of fish, he stands by a wall, she beside fishing nets. He wears a pink hat and a red and white striped top, he has a net draped around his shoulders. She wears a skirt with a very delicate floral pattern and an apron edged in blue. They are earthenware, press moulded figures, painted in multicolour glazes and set on oval gilt lined bases.
