A finely decorated, porcelain London shape coffee cup and saucer, produced in Staffordshire, possibly by the Riley or Marsh factories somewhere between 1815 and 1820. The unusual decorative design consists of a wide gilt chevron pattern between narrow borders of slanting gilt and red ovals. As neither piece is marked it is not possible to assign this set to a particular manufacturer.
The cup stands 2 1/2 inches high and measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter

Both cup and saucer are in perfect, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
