Description
This charming Staffordshire spill vase depicts a shepherd leaning on a tree with his crook, and a shepherdess, seated, cradling a lamb. The figure has been hand painted in overglaze enamels. The tree is hollow to hold the spills which would look like branches when inserted.

condition
There are a couple of small firing cracks along part of a mould join (present since manufacture) and a very small stress crack to the base. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of this attractive piece.
