Sterling Silver Bangle Vintage 1973 Modernist Chunky Bracelet 7 1/2" Length

Fabulous vintage solid sterling silver (fully hallmarked) chunky modernist textured/planished bangle/bracelet. C~ Hallmarked 1973 (carries the special Bi-Centenary mark of the Birmingham Assay Office). (Please excuse all the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 7 1/2" / 19cm internal circumference and weighs a heavy 27.2 grams. Wonderful bright textured/planished design all around which reflects the light beautifully. Opens up correctly (hinge is true and firm with absolutely no play) and closes securely with a very reassuring click by pushing the tongue through the integrated keeper. Clearly and fully hallmarked to the inside (within different shaped, recessed cartouches) with the Lion passant (Sterling silver), anchor (Birmingham assay) which is the special mark (letter; C to each side of the anchor to commemorate the Bi-Centenary of the Birmingham Assay Office) and fancy capital letter; Y - dating to 1973. Also carries the makers initials; JS - John Sturdy. The opposite internal side of the bangle is correctly hallmarked with the Lion passant and fancy capital letter; Y. Still retains her original silver safety chain (sealed links) for added piece of mind. Beautifully made and very comfortable to wear. Excellent, bright, clean condition with no wear or indentations (looks to have had very little use, perhaps only high days and holidays) and just a few overall extremely light and fine little (micro) surface scratches showing under eyeglass only commensurate with age.
