Description
This is a very pretty Sterling Silver thimble from the early 1970s. It comes in a lovely green gift bag and would be a very special present for someone who enjoys sewing or haberdashery.
It’s a size 5 thimble. It was made by James Swann and Son of Hylton St Birmingham and it was hallmarked in 1970. The maker’s mark and hallmarks, along with 5 for the size are on the rim.
It has a very pretty flower design all the way around and a dot pattern around the sides and top. It’s in excellent condition with a just a tiny bit of tarnish.
It weighs 6.2g and measures 2.4cm in height (nearly 1 inch). The diameter is 1.7cm (just under 3/4 inch).
