Stunning Art Nouveau Danish Sterling Silver Sugar Caster Evald Nielsen 1916
A superb Danish sterling silver sugar caster in the art nouveau / Scandinavian skonvirke style with fluted, waisted baluster body inset with silver balls at the intersections. The cover with matching vertical fluting with a silver ball knop and hand pieced holes. The piece has an all over hand hammered finish.
A beautifully stylish piece for the dining table or kitchen with many uses e.g. for dredging flour, sprinkling chocolate or spices over desserts and cappuccinos, or of course sugar over strawberries or your morning cereal.
Copenhagen town mark dating for 1916 to both pieces and assayer mark for Christian Heise. No maker's mark but the design is attributed to Evald Nielsen with another fully marked example of slightly later date documented.
