A truly lovely mahogany cased barograph with a milk-glass subsidiary dial with all the traditional weather predictions and signed by Pastorelli & Rapkin Ltd, 46, Hatton Garden, London.
The heavy lift-off lid with thick bevelled glass sits neatly over the substantial base which has a two-compartment chart drawer with a deep mahogany moulding below creating an elevated plinth. Glued within the drawer is a paper trade slip advertising Pastorelli and Rapkin Ltd as Meteorological and Scientific Instrument Manufacturers along with a number 190 below - an early telephone number perhaps?
The brass movement including the clock has been cleaned and recalibrated all to a high standard.
A quantity of weekly charts together with a fresh bottle of recording ink are included and also a reprinted period pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
