I am delighted to offer this rare oak single fusee wall clock for sale. Having been fully restored and in amazing condition this chain driven eight day movement is within a foliate carved case over fluted curved brackets and surmounted by a swan neck pediment and brass finial. The case has a side door and lower door complete with working lock and key. The cream 8 inch dial is signed 'T. Coleman, Kington' who took over a clockmaking business located at 45 High Street, Kington, from the famed London 'Skarratt' family of clockmakers. Coleman himself was an excellent clockmaker and entrepreneur diversifying into watchmaking, a jewellery and opticians outlet along with being a gold and silversmith. His work is very rare and one of his clocks, purportedly the County Court clock, graces the Kington museum. All my clocks come with my two year guarantee as standard.
Clockwise has clarified that the Stunning English Fusee Carved Timepiece (LA354164) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1870
Rather than trusting a courier of any sort I unreservedly recommend collection or I can deliver regionally/nationally. All antique clocks require delicate handling and specific setting up so it is far better for a dealer to meet a client and talk them through the process, or set the clock up for them, rather than leave the client struggling at the other end on their own.
