A rare huge English Victorian solid sterling silver soup or serving ladle. It is hallmarked for London 1883 with the makers mark being Jajs for Holland, Son & Slater (John Aldwinckle & James Slater). It has been superbly made to what is termed the Fiddle Pattern and has been engraved with the single letter D. It is in outstanding condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 12.75 inches (32.4cms) long by 4.25 inches (10.6cms) wide and weighs an impressive 232 grams. A beautiful very high quality clean piece. Weights and measurements are approximate.
