Sunderland Pink Lustre Jug

Very rare to find in perfect condition these days, this Sunderland lustre jug is an excellent example with good transfer designs typical of this type of ware. The jug has good bold strength of colour to the hand painted pink lustre decoration and transfers of “The Sailors Farewell” with usual the verse and the Wearmouth Iron bridge completed in 1791. The front has a harvester transfer with hand coloured detail to the birds and foliage. This dates from around 1820.
