Swedish Antique Pine Dome Top Blanket Chest - Trunk

Here’s a very handsome Swedish antique dome-top chest, beautifully framed with decorative metal strap-work. It’s a tidy, well-preserved piece with a curved lid that opens smoothly and is safely supported when raised. The chest has carrying handles on both ends and is empty inside. The lock is present but without a key, and there’s evidence of an earlier lock fitting on the opposite side. A small brass plaque on the front reads “Torsten Ekblom”, dating the piece to around 1920, possibly a little earlier. It’s in lovely condition throughout — including the back — so it would work well placed in the centre of a room. The chest has already been wax finished and is ready for use.
