This is the second of two lots of genuine vintage hats: ten quite small hats, in various shapes and styles. They were old stock from a hat shop that closed down many years ago, so they have been stored away for a very long time. They are not perfect, but they are in good vintage condition, made by Gina Davies, Edna Wallace, Mitzi Davies etc - all London based makers of the time who made 'good' but not overly expensive hats for ladies. Please look at the pictures. There are five 'beret' type everyday hats, three with brown and cream the predominant colour as well as two in shades of blue. There is a smart little hat in brown and cream velvet and satin ribbon (I like this one, but it's far too small for me!) There's a cream canvas hat with applique lace motifs, a navy and turquoise straw hat, a very fancy, but slightly misshapen hat in lovely blue and brown ribbon, with a net trim, and finally a rigid hat covered in turquoise feathers. I think they date from the 50s.They do look very reminiscent of Brief Encounter or perhaps a Barbara Pym novel.
The 200 Year Old House has clarified that the Ten True Vintage 1950s Straw, Velvet & Feather Trimmed Hats (LA227237) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1950s
These are ten genuine vintage hats that came from the leftover stock from a small hat shop here in Scotland. They have been stored away for some time so they need to be aired, but are in reasonably good vintage condition, some better than others. Please read the full description above.
I will courier these within the UK for £10. They make a light, but rather bulky parcel. I am very happy to combine items as far as possible.
