Description
This spectacular diamond ring is a breathtaking piece of history. Two rows of ten stunning old mine cut diamonds are held in an intricate cluster setting, allowing for the diamonds to catch the light from every angle and create a stunning sparkle. The approximate diamond total is 1.71ct.
This half-hoop ring is a rare find for its age. The ornate foliate shoulder work and intricate diamond settings make for a one-of-a-kind antique piece.
During the Georgian era, diamonds were highly prized and sought after for their rarity and beauty. Diamonds were often used to symbolize love and commitment and were commonly featured in engagement rings and other sentimental jewellery.
This ring, circa 1820, tests as 9ct (and silver for its settings). There are signs of a previous resizing to the shank, but this ring is in good condition with light marks commensurate with age.
Please find the SafeGuard report, (see the end image in the gallery) for more detailed information.
