The Rarest Early Howard & Sons Sofa Chaise Ever c.1870

One for a collector or connoisseur from this company. I have only ever seen one other like it in the last twenty years with the design on that one with the head rest the opposite way around. The design itself is far ahead of it's time being multi functional as a restful chaise longue with the barrel end to put your feet on and serving as an arm rest for sitting in it like an armchair- the seat is tremendously deep seated as you would expect from a Howard. It was re-upholstered approx 20 years ago in howard blue ticking by balding design ltd in wiltshire,there is a picture of this chaise on their website as well, also included in these images. (seat could do with a re-pad) Probably for Corsham Estates Ltd a Hotel group also based in wiltshire of which there is plenty of info out there on them, with Howard paper label to underside along with Corsham Property Owner label. All four castors stamped "Howard & Sons" along with an eight digit serial number to back leg.over 30 images all in all. New price of £11.800 gbp.
