This is a trio of antique fireside tools. An English, brass poker, coal shovel and tongs companion set, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1900.
It is of good size with attractive tonality and Aesthetic Movement overtones. Each displaying a desirable aged patina throughout, with gently time-worn handles. Quality brass presents bright golden tones with a pleasingly reflective finish. Bold square handles with Doric inspired capital adornments to the ends. Each piece continuing the geometric motif with a fascinating squared shaft.
