Description
A very rare Victorian silver game skewer by the great Fox family. This superb example is of rapier form with a fully cast figure of a pheasant to the terminal. The tapering shaft is gently shaped and ribbed with the detail to the bird, perched on a branch and pedestal, of excellent quality. Game skewers are rather more rare than the usual full sized examples and this fine piece is of good gauge silver. An alternative use would be as an excellent novelty letter opener.
Maker:- Charles Thomas Fox & George Fox
