Description
Rare Darvil Windsor chair. These chairs were made in the Town of Darvil in Scotland . There are three chair makers associated with the Darvil Chairs, Black, Shields and McMath, they were generally finished with a Basic Shellac polish which has an Orange tone then a top coat of clear varnish as can be seen on This chair. this style of chair is remanicant of North East American Country Chairs possibly some Scottish Makers emigrated there and took the design with them.
