Alison lives in a small village in Cambridgeshire and has been involved in the antiques trade for thirty years. A qualified auctioneer, she has a BA Hons in Valuation of Fine Art and Chattels and has worked in a London auction house and for The Potteries Museum as well as exhibiting at fairs in London and East Anglia. She is a keen collector of 18th and 19th century Staffordshire ceramics, turn of the century art pottery and English silver novelty items.

Description
Very rare mid 19th Century Victorian antique silver game skewer by the great Fox Family. This superb example is of rapier form, with a fully cast figure of a pheasant to the terminal. The tapering shaft is gently shaped and ribbed, the detail to the bird perched on a branch and pedestal is excellent. The skewer is of good gauge and would make an excellent novelty letter opener, as an alternative use.
