A large (and is very heavy) Bronze depicting in the finest way a Jockey on his Horse. This is signed Bonheur but if not by Bonheur it is certainly after the work of that famous animal artist in Bronze, Isidore Jules Bonheur. Known inthe 19th Century as one of France's best animalier sculptors. Born in Bordeaux 1827 and died in Paris 1901. He began his career working alongside his Sister, Rosa Bonheur in their Father's Studio-Raymond Bonheur. This is a most beautiful piece French from the 1920's. It measures. Height 15.5 inches and the Base is 16.00 inches in length and 7.00 inches in width. The length of the Horse is 16.00 inches. The Horse is 'Kinscem' who was an unbeaten Hungarian Racehorse winning 54 races from 54 starts, including the Goodwood Cup in 1878.
