Very Unusual Design Antique South Caucasian Karabagh Rug

Late 19th Century South Caucasian in origin and possibly made by Armenian Weavers from that region. Reminiscent in style also to North West Persian Kurdish weavings. It is all woollen construction with red wefts seen on close ups of the back of it. I like the stylised Horse and Rider in the upper right edge field. During the course of it's life there has been quite a few and very good quality reweaves easily seen in the images. Having said that I think it all adds to its charm and someone in the past thought the rug was well worth the restoration cost to at least maintain its overall appearance. It would look lovely hung from a wall or positioned in a room with light footfall. The side cords are good as are the ends. Transfers, viewings, offers, etc all welcomed.
