Description
Victorian Gentleman's large, heavy and absolutely magnificent 12ct (professionally tested) rose rolled gold (has a lovely soft pink hue and is known in the U.S.A as gold filled), traditional chunky elongated curb link Antique (German) pocket watch chain / double Albert with original big stamped swivel T bar and original stamped matching dog clips.
C~1890's.
Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'.
Measures; 37cm / 14 1/2" total length and weighs a hefty 40.4 grams.
Bright crisp chunky traditional elongated curb links (measure 8mm width) - all have a lovely 'fluid' feel to them, reflecting the light beautifully.
Both lengths of the chain are attractively finished off with a little oval shaped link.
Robust and well made original secure matching dog clip to each end (both operate correctly) which are clearly stamped (within a slightly recessed oblong shaped cartouche); S.P - Friedrich Speidel Of Pforzheim, Germany. Est 1868 - 1937.
Original big swivel T bar to centre (measures 3.6cm length) which is clearly stamped to one side; S.P. Best Rolled Gold S.P.
Also has a short length of elongated curb link chain just below the T bar with original round link to end - so allowing the wearer to display a fob if desired.
Excellent bright clean condition with absolutely no wear or patina (looks to have had very little use - perhaps only high days and holidays) and just a few extremely tiny (micro) surface scratches (showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
Will arrive in a new presentation/display box as shown and be very securely and safely packed.
