Description
This is a fine Victorian brass coal helmet retaining its antique finish that gives a bronzed appearance. Great for just wiping down with a duster and very low cleaning maintenance.
To the top of the deeply embossed helmet is the makers mark for Benham & Froud, a highly regarded manufacturer. Probably bought originally for the parlour(best room) and as such escaped the heavy usage that is usually associated with general coal helmets. Therefore condition is very good, ready to grace a new setting.
