Victorian Copper Coal Helmet

This is a superb boat shaped coal helmet from the late Victorian period. The decorative wrought iron folding handle is fixed with beautiful decorative hinges, whilst the main body has embossed fluting, all sat on a riveted round base. This helmet has not been polished up for over 30 years and as such has started to build a natural skin/patina. Because of this we have lightly oiled the piece and then cleaned off with a dry cloth. This is a very easy to maintain natural finish which we find preferable on the aesthetic front also.
