Unusual Victorian country hawthorn wood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The wood has been taken from the tree and had the bark stripped but the small side branches have just been trimmed and left to form this really unusual cane. The surface has then been lacquered. Very strong and with all those points would serve as a good defensive weapon by anyone using it. The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1891 and makers mark for Jonathan Howell. Plain the silver top with no engraving or pattern. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 89 cm 35 inches in length, the pommel is 3.3 cm 1 1/4 inches wide and 6 cm 2 3/8 long.
