Victorian Gilt Metal & Glass Inkstand

* A simply stunning glass and gilt metal ink stand * The actual ink container is just a small inner glass chamber set below the top * Dating we think to somewhere between 1860 and 1880 * The outer glass chamber sits neatly into the gilt square metal base * The base is raised at each corner with an intricate modelled foot * There has been an historic repair at some time over the last hundred or so years * The repair was made using staples which would probably place the repair to around 1900 * The photograph is of the small inner ink bottle * It has a number of nibbles around its outer edge
