Victorian Hand Carved Strombus Gigas Shell Cameo

An absolutely stunning cameo carved from the Queen Conch. This is a beautiful example with the carving depicting a lady and her maids in white waiting at a doorway. The background has a soft pink hue. The carving has made fabulous use of the natural textures and the colours of the shell. The shell is set in a 15ct bloomed gold mount circa 1870.
