We sell the individual, the unique, and the downright quirky. From Art Deco earrings to Scandi modernist rings to Victorian charms.
Vittori & Hive love jewellery & gems. We are gemologists & put considerable effort into correctly identifying gemstones, and hallmark identification.
Our customer service is amazing. Our photos are not retouched. We give proper reports on condition. We know what we are talking about!
We believe in re-use. The formation of natural gemstones, gold & silver takes millions of years. You are merely the keeper of nice jewellery until it is passed to the next owner.

Victorian Insect Brooch Pin Pinchbeck Emerald Green Ruby Red
Here we have a vibrant piece of Victorian costume Jewellery.
The ‘gemstones’ in this brooch are in fact faceted glass, that have foil underneath to make them look like rubies & emeralds. The ‘gold’ isn’t gold either but likely a base metal such as brass, mixed with copper to bring out a very rich colour.
🔸 This beetle brooch is 28mm long
🔸 It is 19mm wide.
🔸 It is 10mm deep (how high its sits on your clothes)
🔸 It weighs a modest 3.2 grams
This bug is very typical of Victorian costume jewellery. It is in very good condition. There is a little wear to the metal & front leg is slightly bent, but it adds to the charm, so I haven’t straightened it. The glass ‘gems’ are fault free.
