Super ebony and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The pommel to the top is a beautifully grained agate sphere. This is another cane from a large collection we've been selling over the last few months. The silver was assayed in Birmingham as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1885 and has the makers mark for Henry Griffiths. The trumpet collar is plain but with a folded ridge to the bottom. The sphere sits neatly into the trumpet top. The shaft is ebony which has good weight although quite fine so presumably a ladies or dress cane. The silver is in excellent condition with no splits, holes or damage just some light surface marks as you can see in the pictures. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 91.5 cm 36 inches in length, the pommel is 4 cm 1 9/16 inches wide.
