Victorian Large Silver Jewellery Box Pin Cushion 1897

We have for sale a very attractive large silver Victorian Jewellery box pincushion manufactured by the London silversmith Dimier Brothers & Co (Charles Dimier). This quite striking jewellery box consists of a blue fabric covered lidded heart shaped box in which the domed hinged lid functions as a pin cushion. The box is decorated with a broad solid silver collar richly decorated in a pierced rococo foliate design. Opening the lid reveals a well preserved fitted box interior. The silver collar encompassing the box carries full English hallmarks for London 1897 along with the makers marks for Dimier Brothers & Co. The box is in a very good usable antique condition, the hallmarks are well struck and easily read, but the fabric covering does show some signs of aging.
