Victorian Pocket Watch Chain 12ct Rose Rolled Gold 1890s Albert Heavy 36.6 Grams

Victorian Gentleman's absolutely magnificent and highly impressive 12ct (professionally tested) rose rolled gold (has a lovely rich pink 'blush' and is known in the U.S.A as gold filled), large traditional, very chunky graduated curb link Antique German pocket watch chain / Albert (by Friedrich Speidel) with original big stamped swivel T bar and original stamped ratchet dog clip. C~1890's. (Pocket watch shown is for display purposes only and NOT included). Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 28cm / 11" total length and weighs a heavy 36.6 grams. Bright crisp and very chunky traditional graduated curb links (measure 9mm width to centre and taper down each side to 6mm wide) - all have a lovely 'fluid' feel to them, reflecting the light beautifully. Each end of the chain is finished off with an attractive oval link. Original large swivel T bar to one end (measures 4cm length) which is clearly stamped; S.P BEST ROLLED GOLD S.P., - Friedrich Speidel, Pforzheim (one of the leading German jewellery manufacturers of the era). Original secure ratchet dog clip to the opposite end (operates correctly) which is again clearly stamped within a recessed, triangular shaped cartouche; S.P. Also has a short length of curb link chain just below the T bar with original oval link to end - so allowing the wearer to display a fob if desired. Interestingly the two oval links next to the dog clip are fused together - this would have been done by the manufacturer to give the chain extra strength against the advances of 'pick pockets' who were prevalent during this time. Excellent bright clean condition with no damage or wear (looks to have had very little use, perhaps only high days and holidays and just a few extremely light and fine little surface scratches (showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
