Victorian Pocket Watch Chain Fob 18ct Gold Plated 1890s Big Antique Shield Fob

Original Victorian Gentleman's large and highly impressive 18ct gold plated (stamped) Antique pocket watch chain ornate shield fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 5.1cm height (including the top ring), 3.6cm width and weighs a very respectable 13.5 grams. Attractive shield shaped fob which is beautifully decorated to the front with a slightly raised scrollwork and acanthus leaf decoration featuring a raised fancy un-engraved shield shaped cartouche to centre . The back is smooth, highly polished (free from any inscriptions or initials) and is stamped; 18ct Gold Patn (18 carat gold plated, Patented) and carries the makers initials (within triangular shaped cartouches); S M E. Big secure robust top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with a little bit of overall wear/patina (mainly to the base of the shield cartouche - imagine this would have been suspended from a watch chain for many a year) and light surface scratches all commensurate with age.
