Victorian Sterling Silver Detailed Ebony Novelty Cribbage Board Bham 1900 W & Co

A very unusual and rare Victorian Novelty heart-shaped Cribbage Board made from Ebony and mounted with solid sterling silver playing cards as decoration. The silver cards are fanned out and the top one has hallmarks for Birmingham 1900 by makers W & Co. The top of the heart is also mounted with a spade shaped vacant cartouche. The body of the board is made of Ebony. The back has a sliding compartment to hold pegs. Measuring 17.5 cm x 12.5 cm with an overall weight of approximately 250 grams. In very good condition, to say it was made to use a lot it's really good, a few dings to the silver, one of the bun feet is missing, a few scratches to the board and there are no pegs. A very collectable novelty item.
