Stunning Malacca and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The pommel to the top is a beautifully grained amethyst ball. The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1899 and makers mark for Jonathan Howell of Old Street, London. The silver collar has an inscription :- " GV Brown from E Greyson Xmas 1899". The shaft is Malacca is a strong fibrous wood often used for walking canes. This is oversized, really thick, and will support a substantial weight. The silver is in excellent condition with no splits, holes or damage just some minor surface marks as you'd expect and can see in the pictures. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. It measures 91.5 cm 36 inches in length, the pommel is 5 cm 1 15/16 inches wide.

It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. No damage or repairs to any part of the cane.
