Rare and unusual Victorian blackthorn wood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. A really strong gentlemen's country cane. The silver was assayed in Chester as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1899 and makers mark for WH Carrington of Thomas Street Manchester. Plain silver collar with a super tigers eye pommel above the stripped blackthorn of the shaft. The shaft is exceptional with vertical lines of thorn beds at intervals down the shaft. The colour is excellent and sets off the tigers eye perfectly. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 89 cm 35 inches in length, the pommel is 4.7 cm 1 7/8 inches wide.
