Vintage 1930s Pocket Watch Display Casket Box Golden Ormolu & Rich Damson Velvet

Original 1930's Art Deco antique pocket watch display/presentation box. (The 16 size pocket watches shown are for display purposes only and Not included). Measures; 7.8cm square, 4.6cm height and weighs a heavy 164.4 grams. Will accommodate a 16 size or smaller pocket watch perfectly. Wonderful golden ormolu casket box which has an unusual pebbled decoration to all four sides and attractive engine turning to the lid with an oblong shaped, un-engraved cartouche to centre. Opens up correctly, closing relatively tightly and has a lovely wide Art Deco bracket hinge to the back. The large hinge does have a bit of play but this does not affect its operation. Beautifully lined to the inside base with slightly padded, plush damson coloured velvet (no rips, tears or fading) and the internal lid is again adorned with the same. Clearly stamped to the lip of the lid; Made In Great Britain. The base carries a geometric ribbed design and all four original bun feet are present. Excellent condition with no damage or indentations and just a little bit of overall wear/patina /light surface scratches commensurate with age.
