Description
This is a pretty small sterling silver case from the 1930s. It would be perfect for storing small items in. It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift.
It was made by Smith & Bartlam and is Hallmarked for Birmingham 1935.
It has a lovely engineered pattern to the lid and base. In the corner of the lid there's a blank rectangular cartouche.
The hinge and clasp work well. Inside is a bright gilded interior and two blue elastic straps. There are some light green discolouration spots to the gilding. The Hallmarks are on both the lid and base.

The exterior measurements are 5.7cm by 8cm (2.25 inches by 3.1 inches). The depth is 1.1cm (0.4 inches).
It weighs 42.5g.

condition
It is shiny with a little tarnish in places to help show the detail. There are a number of dints that show its character and vintage charm. Most dints are very small with a few slightly larger ones.
