Vintage 2.90ct Sapphire & Platinum Cross Pendant c.1950

This stunning, fine and impressive vintage cross pendant has been crafted in platinum. This vintage pendant has a Latin cross design, ornamented to the centre with a feature four-claw set 2.90ct octagonal cut Ceylon sapphire. The plain platinum crossbars bear a subtle planished finish. This vintage sapphire pendant suspends from an 18ct white gold 18' chain via an integrated scrolling ring loop to the upper border of the design; the chain secures with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening. The cross shaped frame is hallmarked to the reverse with the platinum fineness mark (PLATIN) and the maker's mark (FW). This impressive blue sapphire necklace is supplied with a sapphire report card and certificate supplied by the Gemmological Certification Services, London*. Such examples set with large untreated Ceylon sapphires are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. A vintage platinum sapphire cross pendant embodies timeless elegance and spiritual significance.
