Vintage 7.39ct Opal Ruby & 18ct Yellow Gold Bird Brooch c.1950

Exceptional, fine and impressive 7.39 carat opal, 0.02 ruby and 18 carat yellow gold bird brooch; part of our diverse vintage bird brooches collection. This fine and impressive vintage opal brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold. The brooch has been modelled in the form of a bird perched upon a branch. This body of the vintage bird brooch is embellished with a claw set cabochon cut opal. The head of the bird features a textured design, replicating the details of the bird's feathers and anatomical features. The branch is ornamented with naturalistic textures enhancing the bark design, all grasped by 18ct white gold claws. The eye of the bird is represented by a 0.02ct round cabochon cut ruby. The brooch secures to the reverse with a yellow gold hinged pin and safety clasp. This bird brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold.
