Vintage Art Deco Silver Cigar Lamp, Lion Handle

An exceptional vintage, Art Deco era, sterling silver table top cigar lighter or cigar lamp. It has an extremely attractive design, similar to an Aladdin's lamp with a single oval foot, a decorative flame finial with the smooth curved handle transcending into the head of a lion. The lighter is a table top piece and has a lift out silver recess and fuel mechanism, the flame protrudes at the end of the lamp and this area is removable too, short hallmarks can be found near the finial cap, full hallmarks can be found at the foot of the lamp. It is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham assay office, 1934, maker is Mappin and Webb. Very well made piece by a world renowned silversmiths. Condition: Very good used condition overall, light surface wear, commensurate with age. Approx measurements: 6" width, 4" height, 2.5" length / depth, Weighs approx 132 grams.
