Vintage Four Engine Aircraft Desk Model Aviation Paperweight

A highly decorative vintage model of a four-engine aircraft, cast in polished bass and mounted on a substantial brass and wooden display base. The aircraft has a wonderfully streamlined period appearance, with swept wings, detailed engine nacelles and an elegant polished finish. It is mounted at an angle on a brass support, giving the impression of the aircraft in flight. The model was acquired with its propellers missing. Four replacement wooden propellers have subsequently been individually made and fitted by my master craftsman, carefully designed to complement the appearance and proportions of the original model. They have been secured using traditional-style brass slotted screws and sit extremely well with the aged polished metalwork. The underside of the wooden base has also been sympathetically refurbished with a new protective felt lining, allowing the piece to be safely displayed on a desk, table or polished surface. A particularly attractive piece of vintage aviation memorabilia which would make an excellent desk ornament, executive paperweight or gift for an aviation enthusiast. The combination of polished brass and warm timber gives it considerable decorative appeal.
